Plain English. Short list.
Effective May 26, 2026.
FishGuild is a small project being built in the open. This page covers the only thing we collect today, which is the waitlist. When accounts, listings, and messages exist, we will update this page before turning them on.
What the waitlist collects
- Your email address.
- Your name, if you choose to share it.
- Your audience type (hobbyist, breeder, club organizer, or all of the above).
- A favorite species or category, if you choose to share it.
That is the whole list. We do not ask for an address, a phone number, or a payment method.
Why we collect it
Two reasons. First, so we can tell you when FishGuild opens to early access. Second, so we can send the occasional build update (a few times a year, not a newsletter cadence). Audience type and favorite species help us prioritize the categories and features that the people on the list actually care about.
Where it is stored
In a Supabase project (a managed Postgres database) on US-region infrastructure. Access is restricted to the FishGuild team. Connection is encrypted in transit, and the database is encrypted at rest by the provider.
What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never share it with advertisers, data brokers, or third parties for marketing.
- We do not run third-party ad or analytics trackers on the waitlist page.
How to be removed
Email hello@fishguild.com and we will delete your record. No form, no friction. You can ask us what we have on file too, and we will reply with the row.
Changes to this page
If we add features that collect more (accounts, listings, messaging), we will update this page and email everyone on the waitlist before the change goes live. The effective date at the top of this page is the most recent revision.
